Happy Halloween! Trick-or-treat events are popping up all over the Portland area, inviting your family to get out, show off your costumes and collect some delicious treats.
Whether you’re in Portland or one of the surrounding cities, chances are you have one of these trick-or-treat events happening a short drive from your home. Best of all, all events listed below are free to attend, unless stated in the description.
If you’d prefer to go trick-or-treating in your neighborhood, plan your route using the Portland trick-or-treat map.

Trick-or-Treat Events in and around Portland
Alberta Street
The annual Trick or Treat Alberta Street is on Halloween, October 31, from 3–6 p.m. More than 40 Alberta Street businesses from NE 12th to NE 31st are handing out candy, stickers and other treats to children as they trick or treat up and down the street.
Beaverton
BOOverton Trick-or-Treat is on Sunday, October 26, from 1-3 p.m. in downtown Beaverton. Businesses are giving out candy and goodies to children in costumes.
Also, head to Breakside Brewery for a costume contest starting at 3 p.m. followed by a dance party.
A good starting point for downtown Beaverton is 12470 SW 1st Street in Beaverton.
Bethany Village
Join the Halloween Hunt at Bethany Village. Trick-or-treat at participating businesses and enjoy fun activities, such as corn hole, a craft table, ring toss, a prize wheel, bowling, and of course the bounce house ($1 per child). The event is Friday, October 31, from 3-6 p.m.
The event is at Bethany Village Centre, 4720 NW Bethany Blvd. in Portland.
Brooklyn Park
Friends of Brooklyn Park is hosting the 6th annual Halloween Cans for Candy event. On Sunday, October 26, from noon to 2 p.m., bring a bag or bucket of redeemable cans and bottles and get a bag of candy (4-6 pieces) at Brooklyn Park. Kids can play the BOO!! bag game for a chance at an extra bag of candy.
Funds raised from cans are used for the park’s summer youth program. Costumes are encouraged.
Brooklyn Park is at SE 10th Ave. and Haig St. in Portland.
Cedar Hills Crossing
On October 31 from 5:30-7 p.m., participate in Mall-O-Ween. Look for the orange signs on windows of the participating stores and restaurants at Cedar Hills Crossing, both inside and outside.
Cedar Hills Crossing is at 3205 SW Cedar Hills Blvd. in Beaverton.
Christ United Methodist Church Cedar Mill
On Sunday, October 26, from 2-4 p.m., enjoy trunk-or-treating in the Christ United Methodist Church Cedar Mill parking lot along with music and games. All ages are welcome and costumes are encouraged.
Christ United Methodist Church Cedar Mill is at 12755 NW Dogwood Street in Portland.
Denver Ave.
Trick-or-Treat on Denver Street is Thursday, October 30, from 5-7 p.m. Businesses along N. Denver Ave. are offering special treats for kids in costume.
The event covers N. Denver Ave. between N. Schofield and N. Willis, in North Portland.
Downtown Troutdale
Put on your costume, grab your candy bag and head to downtown Troutdale for trick-or-treating. Businesses along the Historic Columbia River Highway are passing out candy on Halloween, Friday, October 31 from 4- 5:30 p.m. The fun continues at The Columbia Gorge Outlets from 5-7 p.m.

Franklin Street
Halloween on Franklin Street hosts a Halloween display each night in October. Visitors can get a special goodie while enjoying towering 12-foot skeletons, spooky witches on brooms, tombstones along with lights, music and special effects from 5-9 p.m. on Halloween night, October 31.
The Halloween display is located at 4616 NW Franklin Street in Vancouver.
Fremont Street
During Trick or Treat on Fremont on Friday, October 31, from 4-6 p.m., businesses are handing out more than 1700 full-size candy bars to trick or treaters. Last year, more than 30 businesses participated.
Also, bring a food donation to support the neighborhood’s Trick or Treat for Cans from 5-8 p.m.
Gresham Farmers Market
On Saturday, October 25, from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m., people and pets are encouraged to come to the Gresham Farmers Market dressed in costume. Vendors are passing out candy and there will be a costume parade around the market at 11 a.m.
The market is at 488 NE 3rd St. in Gresham.
Gresham Station
Llamas and sweet treats? Gresham Station offers a twist to trick-or-treating on Saturday, October 25. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., enjoy Halloween at Gresham Station. Meet with alpacas from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., trick-or-treat at participating retailers and do crafts and participate in fun activities.
Gresham Station is at 649 NW 12th Street in Gresham.
Happy Valley Farmers Market
Put on your costume and celebrate the final Happy Valley Farmers Market of the year. On Saturday, October 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., trick-or-treat at 130 vendors, Enjoy live music, shop local and snack on tasty food. There are games, live music, treats, a slime booth, balloon twisting and face painting.
Happy Valley Farmers Market is at 13231 SE Sunnyside Rd. in Clackamas.
Krispy Kreme
On October 25 and October 31, wear your Halloween costume for a free doughnut of choice at Krispy Kreme. No purchase necessary. All three locations in the Portland area are participating.
Leach Botanical Garden
Dress up as your favorite character and visit Leach Botanical Garden for Boo! Bash on Sunday, October 26, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 1-3 p.m. Enjoy the autumn colors as you stroll around the garden and meet some costumed friends who have a treat or two. There’s also trick-or-treating, crafts and a scavenger hunt.
The price is $15 for adults. Kids 18 and under attend for free. Leach Botanical Garden is located at 6704 SE 122nd Ave. in Portland.
Leaven Community Center
Try Vegan PDX and Vegan Scouts are hosting a harmless Halloween family-friendly celebration on Saturday, November 1, 4 to 7 p.m. There are Halloween-themed crafts, trunk-or-treating, spooky decor, photo ops, a raffle, face painting and more
The event is at the Leaven Community Center, 5431 NE 20th Ave. in Portland.
McMenamins Kennedy School
Visit the Northeast Portland McMenamins for trick-or-treating from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, October 31. Stay for the all-ages Halloween party with free live music from 6-8 p.m.
Kennedy School is at 5736 NE 33rd Ave. in Portland.
Milwaukie Community Center
Join a ghoulishly Halloween event at the Milwaukie Community Center for the Boo Bash Carnival on Saturday, October 25, from 4:30-7 p.m. Come dressed in costume and enjoy trick-or-treat activities and crafts.
The event is $5 for adults accompanying children.
Milwaukie Community Center is at 5440 SE Kellogg Creek Dr. in Milwaukie.
Milwaukie (downtown)
City of Milwaukie’s Trick or Treat on Main Street is Saturday, October 25 from 1-4 p.m. Downtown businesses are passing out candy, the Ledding Library hosts a Halloween craft and Milwaukie Police hosts Craft with a Cop in the community room at city hall. All activities are free to attend.
Mississippi Ave. and Williams Ave.
Trick-or-treat in the Boise neighborhood. Here’s a breakdown of each event:
- On Mississippi Ave. families can trick-or-treat from 3-6 p.m.
- Wicked Williams: From 4-6 p.m., trick-or-treat at local businesses. There’s also a pub crawl for adults with drink specials from 6-9 p.m.
- Attend SEI’s Harvest Fest with costumes, games and candy from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at 3920 N Kerby Ave. in Portland.
Montavilla
On Sunday, October 26, Montavilla businesses along Stark and Glisan streets are passing out candy to trick-or-treaters. This event is taking place all day with hours varying by participating location. View the Montavilla business map.
A good starting point to put in your GPS is 7700 SE Stark St. in Portland.
Multnomah Village
From 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Friday, October 31, participate in the Halloween Trick-or-Treat Costume Parade and Contest at Multnomah Village.
The route runs along SW Capitol Hwy between SW 31st and SW 37th Aves. in Portland.
Next Level Veggie Grill
On October 31, Next Level Veggie Grill is handing out vegan candy to all costumed trick-or-treaters.
Here are the two locations in Portland:
- 1972 W Burnside, Portland
- 4121 SE Hawthorne Blvd., Portland
Northwest Kidney Kids
Join Northwest Kidney Kids Trunk or Treat event on on Saturday, October 11, from 1:30–3:30 p.m. Expect decorated trunk full of treats, face painting and crafts, games and snacks.
The event is at at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1280 NW Saltzman Rd. in Portland.
Oregon City
Downtown Oregon City invites families to trick-or-treat at participating shops on Friday, October 31 from 4-6 p.m.
A good starting point is at Liberty Plaza, 813 Main St. in Oregon City.
Oregon City’s St. John the Apostle Catholic Church
This religion focused event includes a trunk-or-treat and games on Saturday, November 1, from 6:30-8 p.m.
The event is at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 417 Washington St. in Oregon City.
Orenco Presbyterian Church
Orenco Church for is hosting the annul Trunk-Or-Treat event with tons of treats and fun for the whole family. On October 25 from 2-4 p.m., wear a costume and bring a bag to collect goodies. This is an outdoor event so be prepared for all weather conditions.
Orenco Presbyterian Church is at 6420 NE Oelrich St. in Hillsboro.
St. Johns
Trick-or-treat at St. Johns businesses along Lombard and adjacent streets on Saturday, October 25, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Here’s the schedule:
- 10 a.m. Pet parade
- 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Halloween walk. Streets closed to cars from Richmond to St. Louis
- 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Makers .arket in the Plaza

The People’s Courts
From 3-6 p.m., stop by The People’s Courts for trick or treating, while supplies last. You can also stay for Free Game Fridays.

The Streets of Tanasbourne
Hillsboro’s The Streets of Tanasbourne is hosting Trick-Or-Treat at The Streets. On Sunday, October 26, from 2 to 5 p.m., meet at the fountain for a maze, a DJ and trick-or-treating. There’s also a costume contest.
The Streets of Tanasbourne is at 10050 NW Emma Way in Hillsboro.
Vancouver Mall
Attend the trunk or treat event hosted by Orchards Cars and Coffee on Sunday, October 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. The event features more than 300 decorated cars and activities for kids.
The event is held at the upper lot of JC Penney’s and movie theater at the Vancouver Mall, 8700 NE Vancouver Mall Dr.
Venvino Art Studios
Venvino Art Studios hosts local businesses in the studio passing out candy and goodies to kids from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 26. Come in costume and enter the costume contest to win prizes Plus, all Halloween art projects are 50% off.
Venvino Art Studios is at 13329 SE Misty Drive in Happy Valley.
WonderLove Food Cart Pod
From 6-8 p.m. on October 31, bring your family to WonderLove’s Food Truck O’ Treat. The food card pod features specialty food items and a full bar along with a Halloween-themed atmosphere. There’s also a raffle to win prizes and sweet treats.
WonderLove Food Cart Pod is at 262 SE Main St. in Portland.
Wood Village
The Wood Village Pumpkin Fest is Saturday, October 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Donald L Robertson Park. You can enjoy trick-or-treating along with a pet costume contest, Dia de los Muertos activities, petting zoo and games and activities.
The event is at Donald L Robertson Park, located at 24300 NE Halsey St. in Wood Village, Oregon.
